RICHARDSON, Texas –– Louisiana College posted a league mark of 17-2 to win the American Southwest Conference East Division title for the first time and also earned the right to host the 2010 ASC Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament at H.O. West Fieldhouse in Pineville, La., beginning Friday and lasting through Sunday (Feb. 26-28).

The entire eight-team, single elimination event will be available for fans through free live video streaming with audio provided by College TV Ticket (collegetvticket.com).  The direct link for all seven games is here.

“College TV Ticket takes great pride in the selection by the American Southwest Conference as the web distribution network for their 2010 ASC Women's Basketball Championship Tournament,” said Dennis Jacobs, president of CTVT, which is in its third season of webcasting Division III and Division II sports to alumni and parents of student-athletes.

LC will have a tournament page on www.lcwildcats.net and the conference will have a “Tournament Central” page on www.ASCsports.org where the links to video can also be accessed as well as those for live stats, box scores, game recaps, photos and updated brackets.

Head coach Janice Joseph-Richard and LC (21-2), which is the only nationally-ranked team in the league and is currently on an ASC-best 13-game winning streak, will begin play at 7:30 p.m. on Friday against West Division No. 4 seed Hardin-Simmons University (15-10). The Cowgirls have won an ASC-record seven league titles and are the only to have appeared in all 12 ASC tournaments.

Head coach Kim Kirkpatrick-Thornton and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (20-5, 17-4 ASC) enter as the West Division champion for the first time in program history. The Lady Cru, who have been in the postseason five straight seasons and enter as winners of 16 of their last 17 games, begin on Friday when they tip off at noon against the East Division’s No. 4 seed, East Texas Baptist University (12-13). ETBU returns after a two-year absence.

University of Texas at Dallas (19-6), which has qualified for four straight ASC tourneys, enters as the East Division’s No. 2 seed and will open play at 2:30 p.m. on Friday against the West’s No. 3 seed, McMurry University (16-9). McMurry won the ASC crown in 2006 and has been the runner-up five times.

Three-time defending conference champion Howard Payne (20-5) is the West’s No. 2 seed and at 5 p.m. on Friday will take on Mississippi College (19-6). HPU also won the ASC title in 2005 and hoisted the national championship trophy in 2008. MC has appeared in 11 ASC tournaments, which is tops in the East Division.

The semifinals are scheduled to tip off Saturday at 2 p.m. (UMHB-ETBU winner vs. UTD-McM winner) and 4:30 p.m. (HPU-MC winner vs. LC-HSU winner), with the championship game coming Sunday at 2 p.m.
