Louisiana College became the ASC’s first team to reach the NCAA Division III Softball World Series by defeating fellow league member Mary Hardin-Baylor 6-2 on Sunday afternoon to close out the regional at UT Tyler Ballpark in Tyler, Texas. The ASC had the final three teams remaining in the seven-team field – Louisiana College, Mary Hardin-Baylor and Texas-Tyler. The conference compiled a 9-4 record over three days (a 6-1 mark when LC, UMHB and UTT did not play each other). 332 student-athletes from 15 universities and colleges are among the individuals recognized by the ASC on its Spring 2008 All-Academic honor roll, the league office announced on Friday (May 9). The sports included are baseball, softball, tennis and track and field. 49 student athletic trainers and student sports information directors were also honored.    Click here for complete story.
