HITTER OF THE WEEK Colton Parker, Sr., 1B, Hardin-Simmons
Senior first baseman Colton Parker (Decatur, TX/Decatur HS) had a huge weekend against University of the Ozarks, hitting five home runs and driving in nine runs to lead the Cowboys in a series sweep. He had one home run in the 7-6 win on Friday and then tied a school record with three home runs on Saturday. Parker’s walk off home run in game three clinched the sweep. He went 7-for-14 and posted a 1.571 slugging percentage.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Nathan Kent, Sr., RHP, Mary Hardin-Baylor
Mary Hardin-Baylor senior right-hander Nathan Kent (Hewitt, Texas/Midway HS) scattered three hits and allowed a single unearned run in a 4-1 victory over Howard Payne. Kent struck out six while walking just two, and held the Yellow Jackets to a .130 batting average in the contest.
 
 
NOTABLE PLATE PERFORMANCES
 
LeTourneau senior Kyle Jacobs (Leander, TX/Rouse HS) went 5-for-11 at the plate and collected seven total bases to lead a YellowJacket offense that scored 29 runs in a 1-2 weekend series at Sul Ross State. Jacobs scored four runs and had five RBIs against the Lobos.
 
Kyle Winstead (Copperas Cove, Texas/HS) went 4-for-7 for Howard Payne in the three-game series against Mary Hardin-Baylor. The sophomore 1B/DH posted a .571 batting average and walked twice.

East Texas Baptist outfielder Jaxon Rader (Paris, TX/HS) had a hit in every game of the weekend series vs. McMurry, including a 3-for-4, three-run show in Saturday’s 12-8 game one win.
 
Sul Ross State senior left fielder Jonathan Bigley (Dripping Springs, TX/HS) hammered out nine hits over a three-game ASC series against visiting LeTourneau. Bigley posted was 9-for-11 at the plate, recording a double with three RBI and five runs scored.
 
Belhaven junior catcher Kreg Garner (Brandon, Miss./Northwest Rankin HS) recorded six hits on the week for the Blazers, with two multi-hit games against No. 10/12 UT Dallas. Garner scored four runs on the week, and started Friday’s rally in the bottom of the 10th with a leadoff single before Will Costinett walked it off with a two-run homer to left field.
 
University of the Ozarks DH Patrick Clifford (Grand Prairie, TX/South Grand Prairie HS) hit .500 (6-for-12) and drove in seven runs over the three-game Hardin-Simmons road series. His performance highlight came on Saturday when he had a pair of doubles and four RBI.
 
Designated hitter Daniel Williams (Katy, TX/Mayde Creek HS) continued being one of the most productive hitters in the ASC last week with seven total hits, including four doubles in a 3-1 week for UT Tyler. Williams was 7-for-16 (.438) and scored five runs. A left-handed DH, Williams enters the week with 57 hits and a .432 batting average on the season.
 
Sully Martin (Paulina, LA/Lutcher HS) delivered a game-tying, two run double in the bottom of the ninth inning of Louisiana College’s series opening win over UT Tyler. The junior center fielder had at least one RBI in each of the three games of the weekend and went 2-for-2 in stolen bases.
 
Ty Johnson (Copperas Cove, Texas/HS) hit .461 and blasted three home runs over four games for Mary Hardin-Baylor. Johnson drove in six runs and scored five and had a two homer game in the loss at Trinity University. Johnson led off the seventh inning of Saturday’s game one vs. Howard Payne with a solo shot to send the game to extra innings. He also picked up a win on the mound to clinch a series victory over HPU on Saturday.
 
Freshman shortstop Isaiah Swann (Marietta, Ga./Wheeler HS) hit .538 from the plate in four games for UT Dallas over the week, including going 3-for-7 in the Comets’ doubleheader sweep of Belhaven Saturday. Swann was 7-for-13 in four games with two RBI and two runs scored while picking up a stolen base and a double.
 
NOTABLE PITCHING PERFORMANCES
 
University of the Ozarks junior relief pitcher Jacob Barker (Russellville, AR/HS) tossed 4.2 innings against Hardin-Simmons, allowing just two hits and one run.
 
Sophomore right-hander Andrew Harlan (Lewisville, TX/HS) struck out four in his 6-1/3 inning effort on Friday night against Sul Ross State. Harlan, who leads the YellowJackets with 37 strikeouts, gave up just three earned runs on 10 hits.
 
Belhaven right-hander Tanner Cable (Southaven, MS/HS) fanned a season-best nine batters in a no decision on Friday against No. 10/12 UT Dallas. It is the third time this season Cable has posted nine strikeouts. The senior allowed six hits and two earned runs for the Blazers, and limited the Comets to a .222 batting average.
 
Cody Brown (Fulshear, TX/Fort Bend Austin HS) struck out six and allowed only one run in a complete-game victory at Louisiana College on Saturday. The UT Tyler senior right-hander limited the Wildcats to three hits and improved to 5-2 on the season. Brown now has 50 strikeouts in 48 2/3 innings after having six over seven innings at LC.
 
Senior Charlie Waddingham (Brandon, MS/ St. Joseph HS) pitched 8.0 quality innings in Louisiana College’s series opening win over UT Tyler. He scattered seven hits in the game and allowed three runs with three strikeouts in the no-decision while holding the Patriots to a .241 batting average in the game.
 
Junior right-hander Cole Hanson (Houston, TX/Cypress Fair HS) made two appearances for UT Dallas last week, picking up the win in his start in UTD's third game at Belhaven over the weekend. In Saturday's 14-4 win over the Blazers, Hanson gave up one hit in 5.0 scoreless innings of work, striking out four batters. He also had a 2.2 inning relief appearance in the midweek home loss to NAIA No. 12-ranked Texas Wesleyan, giving up one run on one hit with another strikeout.
