ROUND ROCK, Texas –
The University of Texas at Dallas women's cross country team won the American Southwest Conference Cross Country Championship for the second straight year at Old Settlers Parker Saturday.
Comet senior
Lindsey Rayborn
defended the individual medalist crown with a 6k time of 22:37.8 She becomes the sixth ASC women's runner to win the race in back-to-back years.
UTD scored 50 points, besting McMurry University by 14
,
allowing Comet second-year head coach
Rayn House
to claim Coach of the Year for the second time.
Hardin-Simmons University sophomore
Sydney Tencate
was the runner-up with a time of 22:55.4. Junior
Emily Villines
from Concordia University Texas placed third in 23:16.9.
LeTourneau University sophomore
Alexis Segura
placed fourth
and
Rachel Willis
of University of Texas at Tyler was fifth. UTD's
Hollee Ratliff
took sixth and
Lauren Robson
of HSU was seventh to round off the All-ASC First Team.
Robson was the Freshman of the Year and McMurry's junior
Alex Fulton
was the Newcomer of the Year. UTD freshman
