ASC Announces SAAC Team Sportsmanship Awards for Spring Sports

All-Time Winners
 
RICHARDSON, Texas –– Five American Southwest Conference members were selected as the spring 2015 recipients of the Team Sportsmanship Awards by vote of the 12 ASC Student Athlete Advisory Committees the conference office announced, Thursday (May 14).
 
The award, in its eighth academic year, honors the member institutions in each ASC championship sport that best displays positive qualities of sportsmanship and fair play from its student-athletes, coaches and fans throughout the season.
 
Concordia Texas received its second baseball honor and the Hardin-Simmons men’s golf team received its first team award.
 
The Concordia Texas, Hardin-Simmons and Louisiana College women’s golf teams were recognized for their sportsmanship on the course this season. LC takes home its second consecutive women’s golf award while CTX and HSU collect their first team honors.
 
The East Texas Baptist softball team collected its second consecutive and fourth softball team award overall.
 
In men’s tennis, Louisiana College in the East Division and Sul Ross State in the West Division received team awards. The LC men receive their third team award the SRSU men take home their fourth team honor.
 
In women’s tennis, Louisiana College and Ozarks were named East Division co-winners and Sul Ross State picked up its second tennis award. The SRSU women receive their third award while LC and Ozarks collect their first team honors.
 
Sul Ross State swept the men’s and women’s track and field team awards. The men’s team receives their second award and the women picked up their first team honor.
 
Sul Ross State led all conference members with four SAAC Team Sportsmanship awards overall.
