HITTER OF THE WEEKMichael Evan, OF, Fr., Concordia Texas
Freshman outfielder Michael Evan (Cameron, Texas/Yoe HS) continued his offensive assault to start his collegiate career. He led Concordia at the plate last week with a .615 batting average (8-for-13) with two doubles, a triple and five RBI. Evan slugged .923 and reached base at a .625 clip. He helped the Tornados run their winning streak to six games and increased his team-leading batting average to .425.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEKCameron Cox, RHP, Sr., Concordia Texas
Senior pitcher Cameron Cox (Round Rock, Texas/Stony Point HS) hurled a three-hit shutout last Friday, as the Tornados blanked Louisiana College in the series opener 4-0. Cox logged his first career shutout and gave up only three singles in the contest. He fanned five during the seven-inning game and improved to 3-0 on the year.

OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES AT THE PLATE
 
Louisiana College senior catcher Garrett Parsons (Channelview, Texas/Channelview HS) once again led the Wildcats offensively, as he collected four of LC's 12 hits on the weekend against Concordia Texas, three of which were doubles. Parsons did not strike out in his 11 at-bats over the three games.
 
Mary Hardin-Baylor Dakota Parsons (Conroe, Texas/College Park HS) had two hits and two RBI in the Cru's 6-5 extra innings victory over Texas-Tyler. He scored a run in every game in the series and posted an on-base percentage of .500 over the three games.
 
Ozarks sophomore shortstop Andrew Beck (Conway, Ark./St. Joseph HS) went 4-for-6 with two runs to help the Eagles earn a 7-6 extra-inning win against Hendrix College (Feb.25). Beck started the rally in the bottom of the 10th with a double and then scored the game-winning run on a bases loaded walk.
 
Sul Ross State freshman third baseman Chris York (Lubbock, Texas/Lubbock HS) Stared all four games at the Tucson Invitational Games and led the Lobos' hitting attack. York had a .429 slugging percentage and a .400 on base percentage. He had two hits each in games against Malone and College of Idaho. His bases-loaded walk in the opener against Malone drove in a key run in a five-run third inning.
 
Texas-Tyler senior catcher Buddy McCoy (Haughton, La./Haughton HS) led the Patriots with a .545 average, tying for the team-lead in hits with six. He also finished the weekend series against Mary Hardin-Baylor with three doubles, two runs-scored, two walks and nine total bases. For the year, McCoy is one of the ASC-leaders in doubles with six.
 
OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES ON THE MOUND
 
Louisiana College senior pitcher Ron Anders (Zachary, La./Zachary HS) was outstanding out of the bullpen in game one despite pitching in near freezing temperatures. He threw three scoreless innings, gave up just one hit, struck out three, and did not issue a walk in three innings of work.
 
Ozarks senior pitcher Alex Rodriguez (San Antonio, Texas/Taft HS) improved his record to 2-1 on the season after tossing the final three innings in relief against Hendrix College. Rodriguez did not allow an earned run and struck out one to receive the win.
 
Sul Ross State junior pitcher Eli Gallego (Alpine, Texas/Alpine HS) pitched a complete game victory against NCAA Division II opponent Malone at the Tucson Invitational Games Friday evening. Gallego did not walk a batter and faced only 28 batters in seven innings. He did not allow an extra base hit and started and played first base in the other three games in Tucson.
 
Texas-Tyler senior pitcher Jamie Paxton (Hurt, Texas/LD Bell HS), a transfer from Southeast Oklahoma State, opened the series against Mary Hardin-Baylor with a stellar performance, finishing with 11 strikeouts, allowing just one walk and holding the Cru to a .143 batting average in a 8-3 win.
