CO-HITTER OF THE WEEK: Hunter Bolin, Fr., CF, Mississippi College

Center fielder Hunter Bolin (Starkville, Miss./Starkville Academy) helped lead MC to a series victory over Howard Payne with a doubleheader sweep on Friday. Bolin went 7-for-11 with two RBI, two runs scored and five stolen bases over three games. On Friday, he was 6-for-8 with eight stolen bases in the two MC wins.
 
CO-HITTER OF THE WEEK: Freddy Prince, Sr., OF, Ozarks
Outfielder Freddy Prince (Jonesboro, Ark./Westside HS) delivered a two-out game-winning hit in the bottom of the seventh to propel Ozarks to a 1-0 win in game one of their series against Hardin-Simmons. Prince finished with week 7-for-16 with six RBI and five runs scored. Prince had three multi-hit games.
 
CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Jayme Monroe, Jr., RHP, Mississippi College
Pitcher Jayme Monroe (Clinton, Miss./Clinton HS) tossed a complete game, one-hit shutout in a 10-0 victory over Howard Payne on Friday. Monroe struck out seven batters without a walk. He was perfect through 4.1 innings with the only hit being a single with one out in the fifth. No Yellow Jacket was able to get as far as second base in the game.
 
CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Gunner Baker, Fr., RHP, Texas-Tyler
Pitcher Gunner Baker (Henderson, Texas/Carlisle HS) stifled the Tornados' offense, holding ASC-leader and 20th-ranked Concordia Texas to just one hit and one unearned run in the series-opener on Thursday. The win was Baker's first of the season, going seven innings, striking out four, and holding the Tornados to a 0.45 batting average.

OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES AT THE PLATE

East Texas Baptist sophomore outfielder Tyler Bates recorded a hit in every game and batted .500 (2-of-4) in the final game of the series with one RBI. He also stole two bases in that same game. In the 3-2 loss in game one Friday night, Bates collected the only RBI of the game. He finished with a .333 on-base percentage and a .364 slugging percentage.
 
Hardin-Simmons senior right fielder Will Wise had six hits in eight at-bats, scored three times and drove in two runs as the Cowboys went 1-2 at Ozarks.
 
Howard Payne junior third baseman John Elmore led the Yellow Jackets with five RBI on the weekend against Mississippi College. Elmore had two doubles and a single for a .556 slugging percentage.
 
LeTourneau infielder Garrett Methvin hit .429 (6-for-14) with two runs scored and a team-best four RBI as the YellowJackets went 1-2 against Sul Ross State. Methvin had a .714 slugging percentage and a .429 on-base percentage in the three games. Methvin had three hits in the series opener with a run scored. He followed that up with a second-straight, three-hit game including four RBI as LeTourneau defeated Sul Ross State, 6-5 in 11 innings.
 
Louisiana College senior designated hitter Matt Scott led LC at the plate in their series win against Texas-Dallas, as he collected five hits, scored two runs, and drove in two runs for the Wildcats.
 
Mary Hardin-Baylor senior infielder Rob Loewe drove in three runs and scored another for the Cru in a series victory over East Texas Baptist. He batted .333 and added four walks for an on-base percentage of .538. One of his hits was a triple. Rob's play helped keep the Cru in a tie for second place in the ASC.
 
Sul Ross State junior outfielder Turner Mattson played an integral role in two walk-off wins against Letourneau. Mattson picked up his team-leading fifth home run of the season with a two-run bomb in the bottom of the ninth against the Yellow Jackets Thursday night to give the Lobos a 9-8 win in the series opener. His bunt single ignited the game-winning rally in the seventh and final inning of Friday's doubleheader. Mattson also scored the winning run on a hit by Josh Vasquez. He had two hits in the first and third games of the series, both of which the Lobos won. Mattson walked three times in Friday's first game and had an on-base percentage of .615 and a slugging percentage of .889.
 
Texas-Dallas sophomore shortstop Jimmy Norris was 5-for-12 from the plate with a pair of walks in the Comets' road series at Louisiana College. In Friday's 12-1 win over the Wildcats, Norris was 2-for-4 with two walks, an RBI and a run scored. He closed the series with a 2-for-5 outing with an RBI in the finale, giving him 11 multi-hit games on the season.
 
Texas-Tyler junior left fielder Buddy McCoy helped lead the Patriots to a sweep of No. 20 Concordia Texas. McCoy was second on the team in batting average (.455), while leading the team in runs-scored (3), hits (5) and RBI (2).

OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES ON THE MOUND
 
East Texas Baptist junior pitcher Matt Lefler earned his third win of the year going 6.2 innings of a 9-inning game. He struck out three batters and retired the side twice in ETBU's only win.
 
Howard Payne senior pitcher Corey Howie picked up his second win of the season in a 6-3 decision over Mississippi College (April 17). Howie struck out three and walked three.
 
LeTourneau senior pitcher Jordan Price made two relief appearances in the three games against Sul Ross State. Out of the bullpen, Price failed to allow a run in 5.1 innings of work, striking out six. He picked up the win after going four innings in game one of the doubleheader on Friday (April 18). In the four innings of work, he allowed three hits and walked one.
 
Louisiana College senior pitcher Madison Lachney continues to lead the nation in complete games as he tossed his ninth consecutive against Texas-Dallas on Friday, shutting out the Comets to help LC win the doubleheader and take the series. Lachney struck out a season-high six batters without a walk. It was Lachney's third complete game shutout in his last six starts, as he moved into second place on LC's all-time list of career complete games with 13, passing Seth Webster.
 
Mary Hardin-Baylor sophomore pitcher Aaron Barteau pitched three perfect innings over two appearances and he had a hand in both Cru victories last weekend. He pitched a perfect ninth inning to get the victory in Thursday's 3-2 win. He then nailed down a two-inning save in Friday's game-one win. Aaron struck out five of the nine batters he faced in UMHB's two one-run victories. He has five wins and five saves on the season.
 
Ozarks senior pitcher Jeffrey Works threw a complete game shutout in a 1-0 win over Hardin-Simmons Thursday afternoon to propel the Eagles to a series win. Works fanned 10 and scattered four hits over seven innings. He issued two walks in the seven-inning game.
 
Sul Ross State sophomore pitcher Justin Vajgert recorded a complete game victory in the third game of the series as the Lobos defeated Letourneau, 3-2. Vajgert did not walk a batter in seven innings, pitched his team-leading fifth complete game of the year and has pitched five or more innings in 9-of-11 starts, including his last six starts.
 
Texas-Dallas junior pitcher Tyler Dauer tossed 7.1 innings of shutout baseball as he picked up his ASC-leading sixth win of the season Friday with a 12-1 win at Louisiana College to open the road series. Dauer fanned six while issuing two walks and scattering nine hits while lowering his season ERA to 2.88.
