ASC SAAC Team Sportsmanship Awards for Basketball Announced

RICHARDSON, Texas –– Texas-Dallas and  Sul Ross State were named winners of the American Southwest Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Team Sportsmanship Awards for 2013-14 winter sports, the conference office announced on Monday (March 17).
 
The award, in its seventh academic year, honors the member institution in each ASC championship sport that best displays positive qualities of sportsmanship and fair play from its student-athletes, coaches and fans throughout the season. The Student-Athlete Advisory Committees (SAAC) from the conference’s 12 member institutions vote on the recipients.
 
Texas-Dallas won the conference’s SAAC team sportsmanship awards in men’s basketball, while  Sul Ross State was honored on the women’s side. Texas-Dallas receives its second SAAC award with the first honor coming in the 2011-12 season. Sul Ross State receives its third overall and second consecutive.
 
The next ASC SAAC Team Sportsmanship Awards will be named after the 2014 spring season.
