TYLER, Texas -- No. 5 seed Louisiana College hit 11 three-pointers en route to an 83-67 upset win over No. 4 seed Howard Payne in the American Southwest Conference Women's Basketball Championship Tournament quarterfinals on Friday.
 
Louisiana College (16-10), the league's three-point leader this season, stuck with the game plan that got them to the conference postseason, shooting 46 percent from beyond-the-arc. Seven of its 11 three-pointers came in the first half and helped the Lady Wildcats to a 45-37 halftime advantage.
 
As a team, Howard Payne (16-10) made 30 percent of its three's on the season, but were 0-for-10 from long-range against LC.
 
HPU made a run at Louisiana College, closing to within two points (52-50) with 14:23 remaining, but LC would close out the game on a 31-17 run to pull away for the win.
 
Kaci Willis led LC with 21 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Four other Lady Wildcats scored in double-digits, including Neka Jones who finished with 17 points. Baylie Butler scored 12, while Danisha Allison and Karylon Thornton added 10 points apiece for five double-digit scorers.
 
Danyel Bradley led Howard Payne scorers with 19 points in the loss. Sarah Van Remmen added 12 points and nine rebounds.
 
Louisiana College will face the winner of the Texas-Tyler vs. LeTourneau quarterfinal in the second semifinal on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
