All-Time Winners
RICHARDSON, Texas –– Five American Southwest Conference members were selected as fall 2013 recipients of Team Sportsmanship Awards by vote of the 12 ASC Student Athlete Advisory Committees the conference office announced, Tuesday (Nov. 26).
The award, in its seventh academic year, honors the member institution in each ASC championship sport that best displays positive qualities of sportsmanship and fair play from its student-athletes, coaches and fans throughout the season. The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) from each of the conference’s 12 member institutions vote on the recipients.
Texas-Tyler and East Texas Baptist each received two Team Sportsmanship awards. The Texas-Tyler men’s cross country team received the conference’s SAAC team sportsmanship award for the third time in four years while the Patriot’s men’s soccer team receives its first sportsmanship award in team history. East Texas Baptist received dual sports awards for the third time in the last five years. The ETBU women’s cross country team takes home its first award and the Tigers football program receives its third. The LeTourneau women’s soccer team receives its first honor. The Concordia Texas and Texas-Dallas volleyball teams each take home its third team sportsmanship awards.
The next ASC SAAC Team Sportsmanship Awards will be named after the 2013-14 basketball season.
