Kolby Sharp took top individual honors to highlight the 2012 American Southwest Conference volleyball awards, the ASC office announced on Wednesday (Nov. 7) after a vote of the league’s head coaches.
Reyes (Abilene, Texas / AHS) was named ASC Most Valuable Player for the second consecutive season after leading the league with 380 kills for an average of 3.25 per set. She also served up 30 aces and led HSU to conference and West Division titles.
Reid (Copperas Cove, Texas / Long Island University) was named ASC Newcomer of the Year after averaging 2.90 kills per set and fueling UMHB to a program record 22 wins, while
Sharp (Pearland, Texas / Lutheran South HS) was voted ASC Freshman of the Year after hitting a league-best .373 and helping ETBU return to the ASC tournament after a year absence.
Reyes, Reid and Sharp were all named to the ASC All-Conference First Team.
