TYLER, Texas – Tennis teams in the American Southwest Conference will be able to get an early-season look at each other during the annual American Southwest Conference Singles/Doubles Tournament being held Thursday through Saturday (September 16-18) at Summers Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Texas at Tyler.

The tourney, being played in September for the sixth straight year, will feature a ten-flight singles format for the men and an eight-flight format for the women. The men will play a five-flight doubles format, while the women will go four. UT Tyler and head coach Chris Bizot will serve as host.

“UT Tyler is looking forward to hosting our member schools for a great weekend of tennis,” Bizot said. “Over the years this tournament has become a fantastic event showcasing our conference players and preparing them for our fall regional championships.”

Singles action will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday night, with doubles play starting at 8 a.m. on Friday. Both singles and doubles championships are slated for Saturday – 8 a.m. for singles and noon for doubles.
