SUGAR LAND, Texas -- Concordia University Texas men's basketball senior forward Brad Walker has been named the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) Small College Player of the Year, it was announced on Friday.

Walker was picked as the top player in Texas out of all NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA players.  Following the 2009-10 season, he became the first CTX men's basketball player to be named American Southwest Conference West Division Player of the Year.  This came after the league's coaches, sports information directors and selected media members tabbed him ASC West Preseason Player of the Year.

Walker, who graduated from Concordia on May 1, averaged a team-best 17.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.  He scored 1,533 points in his career at CTX, the fifth highest number in school history.  His performance during the season also earned him National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) First Team All-Region and D3hoops.com Second Team All-Region honors.  He was the only player across the nation to be named to the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week four times during the 2009-10 season.

Walker guided the Tornados to four straight appearances in the ASC postseason tournament.
