RICHARDSON, TX –Texas-Dallas and Mary Hardin-Baylor will each get to host a 2010 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship game. ASC champion UMHB will host Wheaton in a first-round game at 7 p.m. Thursday at Mayborn Campus Center in Belton, Texas. The winner of that matchup will travel to Richardson, Texas, on Saturday to take on the ASC runner-up Comets at 7 p.m. at UTD Activity Center. UTD received one of only three first-round byes in the bracket.
UMHB’s Release
Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s basketball team’s reward for winning its second American Southwest Conference Championship will be a third trip to the NCAA Division III National Championships and for the first time in the program’s history the postseason will start at home. The Cru (22-6) will host Wheaton (Ill.) College (18-8) in a first round NCAA Tournament game at 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 4th.
The Cru won the ASC title with an 80-70 victory over U.T.-Dallas Sunday at the Mayborn Campus Center. UMHB claimed its second ASC title in the last three years and the Cru also earned a third trip to the NCAA Tournament in the last four seasons.
The Thunder finished 18-8 overall and lost in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament semifinals. UMHB and Wheaton have a pair of common opponents this season. The Cru went 1-1 against McMurry University and also beat Millikin University in the opening round of the Cru Holiday Classic. Wheaton beat McMurry in the second game of the season and also posted a pair of regular season victories over Millikin.
Tickets will be $6 for adults and $3 for students. More ticket information will be posted once it becomes available.
The winner of Thursday’s UMHB-Wheaton game will advance to play at U.T.-Dallas (23-5) in Richardson on Saturday at 7:00 PM. The Comets received a first round bye after falling to UMHB in the tournament finals on Sunday.

RICHARDSON, TX – The UT Dallas men’s basketball team received an at-large bid to the 2010 NCAA Division III Tournament on Monday morning, punching its second straight ticket to the “Big Dance.”
The Comets (23-5) will host the winner of Mary Hardin-Baylor and Wheaton (IL) on Saturday, March 6, at the UTD Activity Center in Richardson, TX. UMHB (22-6) and Wheaton (18-8) will square off in a first round contest on Thursday, March 4, at the Cru’s Mayborn Arena.
Saturday's contest will begin at 7:00 pm (CST). Ticket stands will open at 5:00 pm.
On Sunday, UTD was clipped 80-70 by UMHB in the American Southwest Conference Tournament Championship, held in Belton, TX. The Comets will be making their third appearance at the national stage since 2005, and the Cru will enter the tournament for the third time in four years.
Last season, UTD advanced all the way to the Elite Eight of the national tournament, falling in overtime to Guilford College. The Comets, who also earned a “bye” in 2009, are 2-2 all-time in NCAA postseason play.
Should UTD claim a second-round win, the Comets will face the winner of a North region that includes Hope College (21-7), UW-Stevens Point (23-4), Carleton (19-9) and St. Norbert (22-3).

Beginning Wednesday, March 3, Saturday's tickets will be available for purchase at the UTD Athletic Department offices, found at 800 W. Campbell Road, AB 10. The offices are located on the west side of the UTD Activity Center.
Adult ticket prices are listed at $6; student ticket prices are $3.
On Thursday, March 4, the athletic dept. will give away 200 complimentary, pre-purchased tickets to university students only, courtesy of UTD Student Affairs. Students must come to the athletic dept. offices between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00 pm on Thursday in order to receive their free ticket. (Limit: one per student.)
Ticket hours will be 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Wednesday through Friday. Phone orders may be placed during office hours, and can be directed to 972-883-4490, or x4497. A will-call pick up stand will be open from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 6, for orders that are placed ahead of time.
