ABILENE, TX --- Hardin-Simmons’ junior designated hitter and first baseman Taylor Berlin has earned another award for his hot hitting last week as he was named to the National All-Star Lineup that is presented by The College Baseball Foundation and Diamond.
The National All-Star Lineup is a collection of the top collegiate players from around the nation in all divisions. It will be awarded weekly throughout the season.
Berlin went 10-for-18 with five doubles, a home run and six RBIs over a 3-2 week, including a series win over ASC West Division opponent Mary Hardin-Baylor. Berlin also walked five times and scored five runs. He had a stretch of reaching base in 10 straight plate appearances, which included three doubles, a home run, two singles and four walks.
Berlin follows Mary Hardin-Baylor's Joseph Villegas, who was honored last week.
HSU is 8-8 on the year and 2-1 in ASC West action and will play at Schreiner this weekend in a conference series.
