LeTourneau's Lee Claims Individual Title at ConCan

CONCAN, Texas – Leslie Lee shot a final-round 79 to win the individual title Tuesday afternoon as the LeTourneau University women’s golf team placed second at the Texas Lutheran University ConCan Intercollegiate Classic at ConCan Country Club.
 
Lee, who fired a first-round 85, finished the tournament with one birdie and 20 pars. She shot a two-round total of 164. Candice Nishimura, who was tied with Lee after the opening round, fired a second-round 88 to finish fifth with a 173. She had three birdies and 15 pars during the two rounds. Elizabeth Zapata was tied for 16 th after a 97-977 for 196. Melissa Freeman (tied for 20 th) and Kristen Baskin (24 th) rounded out the individual scoring with a 104-103—207 and 113-96—209, respectively.
 
Schreiner won the event with a 716. LeTourneau, which had 48 pars and four birdies during the two days, was second after shooting a final round 362 to finish with a 733. McMurry and Texas Lutheran were tied for third with 738s and Texas A&M-International rounded out the field with a final round 426 for 853.
 
LeTourneau returns to the links 9:00 a.m., Monday, March 29 at the Southwestern University Spring Classic at Berry Creek Country Club.
