Belton, TX – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor baseball player Joseph Villegas has been named to the College Baseball Foundation’s “National All Star Lineup” for the week ending March 7th.
Villegas, a senior outfielder from Hays High School, batted a blistering .800 over four games last week, going 12-15 at the plate. He also walked a couple of times to post an on-base percentage of .824 and slugged 1.333 for the week. Villegas drove in nine runs and scored six more with a double, two triples and a home run among his 12 hits. He had a five-hit game and a four-hit game. Villegas also broke the ASC career triples record when he hit the 17th triple of his career on Saturday. Villegas broke the previous mark of 16 set by McMurry’s Albert Carrizales. Villegas also tied the UMHB career doubles mark of 42 held by Matt Pullen.
The Cru is currently 8-7 on the season. UMHB returns to action with a 1:00 PM game against Marietta College today in Abilene. The Cru will open ASC West Division play with a three-game series at Hardin-Simmons University on Friday and Saturday.
The College Baseball Foundation “National All Star Lineup” recognizes outstanding performances from players in NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III and NAIA each week. The “National All Star Lineup” is nominated by college coaches, staff and baseball media contacts.

Raynor Campbell-Baylor, Senior
In the Bears 3-1 week against Oral Roberts, Campbell hit .500 with three doubles, four homeruns, and 17 RBI. In the series finale, the senior hit a RBI single for the tie to later hit the game winning two run homer.
Nick DelGuidice-Florida Atlantic, Junior
DelGuidice knocked in 13 runs, hit 2 homers and delivered 2 doubles. He set a school record in the middle game as he drove in 9 runs during a 15-6 Owl win. In three games, he was 9-for-15 at the plate.
Michael Goodnight-Houston, Sophomore
Threw seven scoreless innings to earn the win against ranked Texas on Saturday. Goodnight allowed just two hits with nine strikeouts, one shy of his career-high.
Matt Harvey-North Carolina, Junior
Struck out 11 Michigan batters to earn his second win of the season. Harvey allowed no runs in his eight innings of work while striking out the side twice.
Alex Kaminsky-WrightState, Senior
Allowed just one run over seven innings in WrightState’s upset win over ranked Virginia. Kaminsky issued just one walk on seven hits while striking out seven
Robert Kelly-SaintAnselmCollege, Freshman
Freshman first baseman went 15-for-35 with five doubles, two home runs, a grand slam, seven runs, eight RBI, and nine walks in 10 starts for the Hawks. Kelly had four consecutive multi -hit games.
Taylor Lewis-Maine, Sophomore
Hit .750 (12 for 16) with ten runs scored, nine RBI, two triples, and a homerun. Lewis tallied four walks to finish the four game stretch with an on-base percentage of .800 and a 1.188 slugging percentage.
Barret Loux-Texas A&M, Junior
Threw seven shutout innings, allowing just one hit and two walks on his way to striking out 12 batters against Winthrop. 78 of the junior’s 114 pitches were for strikes against a team that was averaging 10.1 runs prior to the weekend series
Mark Micowski-GeorgiaState, Junior
Helped lead the Panthers to a 4-1 week hitting .636 (14 for 22) with 14 runs scored, 2 homeruns, 10 RBI, 5 doubles, a triple, and 27 total bases. Micowski added an on-base percentage of .679 along with a pair of steals, setting several school records.
Christian Overstreet-MissouriState, Senior
Hit .727 (8 for 11) with two homeruns, six RBI, and seven runs scored. Overstreet also drew five walks, was hit by a pitch, and stole a base. In the series finale, the senior was 3 for 4 with 4 RBI, two runs scored, a walk, and a three run homer that helped secure the win for the Bears.
Will Owens-Furman, Sophomore
Owens led Furman to a 4-0 record by going 11-for-14 (.786) with three home runs, 10 RBIs, and seven runs scored. The sophomore tied a Furman record for most consecutive hits with seven.
Connor Powers-MississippiState, Senior
Powers belted 3 homeruns and 15 RBI over four games, in addition to 7 walks and 5 runs scored. The senior matched a career-high with 6 RBI and hit his second walk-off homer of the year in a 10 inning win over Southeast Missouri.
Madison Rochon-BenedictineCollege, Junior
Junior pitcher threw a five-hit shutout against the No. 12 Lions to give the Ravens the doubleheader sweep over Lindenwood. It was his first complete game of the season in his third start.
