OFFENSIVE

Mary Hardin-Baylor Offensive Line:

Dustin Davis, Ryan Krause, Myke Gobert, Nate Menkin, Max Taylor

The Mary Hardin-Baylor starting offensive line composed of junior center Dustin Davis (Killeen, TX / Harker Heights HS), junior guard Ryan Krause (Castroville, TX / Medina Valley HS), senior guard Myke Gobert (Houston, TX / Cy-Ridge HS), sophomore tackle Nate Menkin (Lago Vista, TX / LVHS) and junior tackle Max Taylor (Lufkin / LHS) paved the way for 480 rushing yards and three 100-yard rushers in a 48-16 win that clinched a share of the ASC title for the nationally-ranked Cru. The 480 yards was tops in the league this season and the fifth-best rushing output in ASC history. The unit opened holes for 152-, 117- and 107-yard rushers. The longest play was a 78-yard scamper. Davis, Krause, Gobert, Menkin and Taylor also helped out a pair of rushers to 50-plus yard performances, got to celebrate six touchdown runs and did not allow a sack in 20 passing attempts.

DEFENSIVE

Reggie Calhoun, CB, Fr., Louisiana College

Louisiana College freshman cornerback Reggie Calhoun (New Orleans, LA / Sidell HS) had two interceptions – including one returned 41 yards for a touchdown – to help lead the Wildcats to a 55-13 win over McMurry. Calhoun also posted six tackles and broke up three passes to allow LC to wrap up a 7-3 season.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Michael Van Wagner, K, Sr., Sul Ross State

Sul Ross State senior kicker Michael Van Wagner (Bandera, TX / BHS) nailed a 57-yard field goal during the Lobos’ road loss to nationally-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor. The field goal was the longest in all of NCAA Division III this season. Wagner, who broke a 23-year old program record of 53-yards, just missed the conference record by 4 yards. East Texas Baptist’s Jeremy Seeton was good from 61 yards out during the 2005 season.
