Keshia Collins, F, So., McMurry
McMurry sophomore forward Keshia Collins (Midland, TX / MHS) averaged 18 points, 11 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 4.5 steals to fuel two conference wins that resulted in the War Hawks jumping up to secure the West Division’s No. 2 seed for the ASC tournament. Collins, who takes the division’s top weekly award for the second time this season, made 7 of 9 free throws and committed just three turnovers. She had a season-high 26 points in a win over Sul Ross State and had the game’s only double double against Howard Payne.
CO-EAST DIVISION
Lyndsey Smith, G, Sr., Texas-Dallas
Texas-Dallas senior guard Lyndsey Smith (Gunter, TX / GHS) averaged 14.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals over two conference games, including a 52-39 road win over LeTourneau in the regular season finale to secure the East Division’s No. 2 seed in the ASC tournament. Smith, who takes the division’s top weekly award for the fourth time this season, also hit 12 of 14 free throws and committed just three turnovers. After never recording a double double in her career, Smith has now accomplished the feat in three straight games.
April Young, G, Sr., Ozarks
Ozarks senior guard April Young (Deer, AR / DHS) averaged 22 points, eight rebounds and 1.5 blocks over two conference games, including a 65-64 road victory over Texas-Tyler in the regular season finale to clinch a berth in the ASC tournament. Young had a game-high 24 points, including six 3-pointers, in the must-win over UT Tyler. She shot a combined 48 percent and added three steals and one assist.

LOUISIANA COLLEGE: Louisiana College's 108-point outing versus Centenary was just three points off the school single-game scoring record of 111 set in a 1997 win over Loyola.
CONCORDIA TEXAS: After never finishing higher than fourth in the league standings and being picked to finish fourth in the preseason poll, Concordia (20-4, ASC 18-3) won its first-ever ASC West Division crown outright by earning double-digit road victories over Texas Lutheran and Schreiner. The Tornados defeated the Bulldogs, 76-61, before beating the Mountaineers by a 60-48 score. Shamika Singleton led the Tornados by averaging 18.5 points on 56.7 percent shooting from the field, 3.5 boards, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per contest. Paige Parrish accounted for 10.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per contest, which included leading the team in points (15), rebounds (10) and assists (6) in the win over Texas Lutheran. Concordia will make its second ASC Tournament appearance in program history and first since 2005 at Louisiana College this week as the number one seed out of the West Division.
TEXAS-DALLAS: The Comets closed out the regular season with a split of a pair of road games. UTD dropped a 68-54 decision at Texas-Tyler Thursday before closing out the regular season with a 52-39 win over LeTourneau. Giving up just 39 points against LETU marked the fifth time this season that the Comets have held an opponent under 40 points...Senior guard Lyndsey Smith is just four points shy of become just the third Comet to score 400 points in a season. She has scored a career-best 396 points this season entering the playoffs...With one rejection in Thursday's loss at UTT, senior Brittany Houston became just the second Comet to record 40 blocked shots in a season. As a team, UTD has already set a school record with 115 blocks...The Comets will be making their sixth straight appearance in the ASC Tournament.
TEXAS LUTHERAN: The Bulldogs erased a 24-point second-half deficit and defeated UMHB 80-75 Saturday in Memorial Gymnasium...In the last game of their Bulldog careers, TLU seniors Rebecca Valdez (McAllen/McAllen), Kimberly Hagan (Houston/Cypress Creek), and Jocelyn Langford (San Antonio/Clark) sparked the rally...Valdez scored 24 of her career-high 28 in the second half. She made 10 of her 14 second-half shots and collected four rebounds...Langford dished out seven assists in the second half and added seven points (five in the second half)...Hagan scored 12 in the second half. In the final 20 minutes, Hagan made two three-pointers and all four of her free throws. Hagan also led TLU in total rebounds, with seven...Katy Scott (La Grange/La Grange) scored 17 of her 19 points for TLU in the first half. The junior post was 7-for-17 from the field and added three rebounds.
LETOURNEAU: Three players tied or set career bests in scoring Thursday, as senior La'Queda Davis and sophomore Jessica Manas scored 22 and 12 points respectively; senior Jahmilah Tyson tied her best total with 12 points against Ozarks, including three 3-pointers ... The Jackets honored seniors La'Queda Davis, Jahmilah Tyson and Sharday Cotton prior to Saturday's regular-season finale against UT-Dallas ... Davis, a fifth-year senior who is already in LeTourneau's graduate program, finished the season averaging 11 points per game, her first season averaging double-figures ... DeShante Thomas blocked five shots Saturday, bringing her season total to 65, a new school record ... LeTourneau finished the season at 13-12, it's first winning season in nine years.
SUL ROSS STATE: The Lady Lobos end their season going 0-2 in Abilene. Sul Ross finishes 2-23 overall and 1-20 in the ASC.
SCHREINER: The Mountaineers (7-18, 5-16 ASC) were 0-2 for the week, with losses to UMHB and Concordia. Key performances for the week: So. Olivia Swarner (17.5 ppg/10 rpg).
OZARKS: Ozarks qualified for the playoffs for the second straight season under Head Coach Carl Ramsey. Ozarks secured the fourth and final spot with a 65-64 win against Texas-Tyler Saturday. Ozarks also got help from Texas-Dallas, who beat LeTourneau to give Ozarks the tie-breaker over the YellowJackets. Ozarks will face Concordia University Texas, which beat Ozarks 74-59 January 7 in Clarksville. The Lady Eagles are led by five senior starters, all of who have socred over 500 career points. Senior guard Lacey Phillips broke the school's single season record in assists this season. She has 143 assists, breaking the previous mark of 139 set during the 1993-1994 season by Missi Boroughs. Phillips leads the conference in assists per game (5.7) and has accumulated 308 in her career, fourth-most in program history.
MCMURRY: Keshia Collins ended the regular season with six double-double games ... Collins also tallied in double-digit scoring in 22 of the War Hawks' 25 games played ... McM won 10 of its final 12 games in the regular season ... McM head coach Veronica Snow has 98 career coaching victories heading into the ASC tournament ... The War Hawks scored 100+ points in a game just twice in 2011-12: In the season opener versus SW Adventist (110-30) and in the regular season finale vs. Sul Ross (105-40), which also proved to be the team's two largest margins of victory.
HARDIN-SIMMONS: Hardin-Simmons shot over 50 percent in both games this week, it is the only two times they have been over 50 percent this season. HSU shot 16-for-25 in the second half against Howard Payne. The Cowgirls had five players average in double figures for the week and for the season they have four players averaging in double figures. Angela Newcombe had two more double-doubles, giving her 18 on the season.
MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE: The Lady Choctaws wrapped up their home schedule with victories over Centenary and East Texas Baptist. In the victory over the Ladies, MC scored over 100 points for the first time since December 6, 2008 when they defeated Schreiner, 101-56. The Lady Choctaws will enter the ASC Tournament next weekend as the #3 seed and face McMurry in the opening round at Louisiana College. The Lady Choctaws qualified for their 13th ASC Tournament, which is the second most of any team in the league. MC will finish their regular season on Monday night when they travel to LC for a make-up game that was originally scheduled to be played on January 9th.
MARY HARDIN-BAYLOR: UMHB misses ASC Tournament for first time in Kim Kirkpatrick-Thornton’s seven years as head coach. The Cru won four of its last seven games after starting the season 2-16. Thornton finishes the season with 99 career victories
